Here is a small gallery of my New Zealand adventure! That’s where my word trip had started back in 2016: 6 months of living in a campervan, working and traveling the South Island & North Island. I got really fascinated by the country and its stunning landscape.

I planned to leave home for 1 year backpacking in New Zealand and Australia- but life planned differently and I ended up traveling the world for now already over 3 years! 😀

Heading into a new adventure that will change my life forever. 6 months in New Zealand!
Finally arrived in Auckland! Spent a few days here organizing my trip and buying a camper with my travelmate. 🙂

Enjoying life to the fullest! Waking up with this view and breathing in beautiful NZ nature.

The view from our campervan bed!
South Island

New Zealand was by far the country with the most beautiful nature! It’s unbelievable to see how many different landscapes you can find here.

Arrived on the South Island- 5 days trekking with a tent & kayaking in Abel Tasman Nationalpark.

Absolutely loved the trekking in Abel Tasman N.Park!

I worked as a vineyard worker, and traffic controller in front of construction sites for 2 months & saved up some dollars for my next stops. 🙂

Do I have to say anything else about Nz’s nature?! Continuing our roadtrip along the South Island.

Feels like the landscapes are changing every 10 minutes!
The famous Lindis Pass Highway- a must drive when NZ.
Amazing Franz Josef Glacier.

On our way to Milford Sound! The highway to get there is a spectcular adventure- can you see how small the road is compared to the mountains covered with small waterfalls?

We made friends as well!

One of the most breathtaking spots I’ve ever seen! Milford Sound- a MUST DO in New Zealand.

We spotted so many seals! How cute?!
Another stop on the South Island: Tunnel Beach.

Driving through the Catlins- worth it!
Here we spotted a huge sea lion.

And a small penguin. 🙂

Trekking through jungle to get to hidden waterfalls!
Arrived in Queenstown. I fell in love with this town, spend one month here living in a tent, working as a housekeeper and doing some crazy adrenaline stuff 😀
On the road again: beautiful sunset & “Wanaka Tree” in Wanaka.

The pancake rocks!
North Island
After traveling the South Island, it was time to explore more of the north in New Zealand.
First stop: Bay of Islands. Sunny weather and beachtime!

Here I did WWOOFing in a New Zealand family for 2 weeks, staying in their home and helping with cleaning holiday houses. They had a small horse that we took to the beach for walks 😀

And I spotted a dolphin with its baby!

You can find a few beaches with black sand in the Bay of Islands.

Cape Reinga- the most northern point in NZ.

Beautiful view over Tauranga.

The powerful Huka Falls.
Champagne Pool
Rotorua is famous for Wai-O-Tapu: its geothermal activity. A natural wonder! You don’t want to touch this water! It gets up to 260 degrees hot.

Fell in love with cute small towns.
Last week in NZ: Tongariro Alpine Crossing! This is partly a movie scene from Lord of the Rings (you can find many of those movie spots in NZ). It was really cloudy, but still an unreal experience!

I hope you enjoyed seeing some insights of my travels through New Zealand! It’s a beautiful country and should be on the very top of your bucket list! Questions? Leave them below! 🙂
